Coronation Street tour - Manchester

If you know me, then you would know my love for Coronation Street so when my best friend said she was taking me on a train to Manchester to go see it for an early birthday present, I was SO excited. (I also love trains, I'm probably the lady version of Roy Cropper!!!)
We got to Manchester Piccadilly at about twenty two one and got onto a train to Deansgate. We had a bit of time to spare before the tour so wandered into the Science and Industry museum. It was a great museum and had lots of fun things to do. We didn't manage to look around the whole museum, but what we did see was really good! We then started walking to the tour, with the help of Google maps and got there half an hour early. As everyone else was taking photos in front of the Coronation street sign, we did too!
We waited for our tour guide, who was a funny, kind, knowledgeable man who made us all feel welcome and had lots of fun. We found out lots of facts about the soap opera and seen things only the cast would of seen. This was great as I actually felt like I should be one of the actresses! (preferably Michelle Keegan!)
We looked around the studio and how they change the different scenes and props. We then had a picture in The Rovers. After we looked at all the memorabilia and production rooms, we got taken into a little room which was Nick's Bistro which then lead out to the street. This was GREAT! You could look around the street and the little alleyways at the back of the houses. Streetcars, back gardens, Roys Rolls, outside the builders yard where Tina died, which I tried to recreate. The actual tour guide lasted about an hour and then you could spend as much time as you wanted looking round the street.
I had the best day yesterday and I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves Coronation street as much as I did! My friend Chloe doesn't have any interest in Coronation Street and still had a great day! So that says something!
Have you ever been? What's your favourite day out?
